In the process of bookmaking I have learned that there is no specific process! I do not know if this pertains only for me however when I was completing my book the results and feelings of what I wanted to do continued to change. There are only guidelines to bookmaking but with the opportunity to be as expressive as we wanted I had the opportunity to create various different things that still followed those guidelines. I was glad that we finally had the chance to sit down and make something. To chose so many different things and make them unite using only our imagination and a list of steps was fun. I noticed however that some student were over thinking the process and thinking that what they were dong was wrong. I tried to help them and found out that when things are not set to stone as to what students had to do they became frustrated. A few of us I think over analyzed this bookmaking and did not enjoy it as much as I did. I personally simply let the texture flow on with all the numerous steps. If I were to recreate this project but with something different I believe I would choose a different background in order to give the whole context a warm type of look. My color would be red, oranges, pinks, and yellows. My four repeating shapes would be leaves and other themes for autumn and maybe Halloween. All in all I am glad that we do not always work with simply pen and writing paper in this particular class.
